Glycerin Back In The Mix

Photobucket

Well a month or so ago I added some glycerin into my Aloe Vera and Rose Water Mix.....My hair became over moisturized and I stopped using the glycerin....

Well with the weather changing and its getting cold I need the extra moisture....So Glycerin was put back in the mix....I have been spritzing with it for the last couple of days and it has been working great..

Before you email me...Here is the bottle and the mix I used....

Starting at the bottom

First line from the bottom is where I filled the Glycerin to

Second line from the bottom is where I filled the Rose Water to

I filled the bottle up to the top with Aloe Vera Juice....

Whats For Dinner Tonight

A lot of you are emailing me asking how my pescatarian lifestyle is going ( those who abstain from eating all meat and animal flesh with the exception of fish)...I don't blog much about it because I know most of my readers are here for the hair care information and reviews...

Update

For some reason now when I'm around meat I get extremely nauseous...Tonight I made some rotisserie chicken ...And as I was cutting the meat to make plates for the kids and was so so nauseous...

I just wanted out the kitchen..... My Sweet Husband went to SanSai Japanese Grill and got me some food to go ....

California Rolls
Salad
Pasta Salad
Fried shrimp , zucchini, and fried green beans

My stomach is flat, I can wear my jeans again.....I feel so much healthier ...I'm glad I made the change

Today Shopping List

OK ...I hate going back and forth to the store...I usually buy enough of what I need for my hair to last me a couple or few months...

Last week I stocked up on my conditioners so I had just a few thing left to pick up....

Photobucket

And here is today's check list

1 Gallon of Aloe Vera Juice

2 8 ounce bottles of Rose Water

2 Jars of Coconut Oil

2 Bottles of Neutrogena Triple Moisture Silk Touch Leave in

2 Applicator Brushes

1 small spray bottle for spritzing

1 Conair N color brush..Yes another one....I lose brushes for some strange reason...So now I have two ...a pink on and a purple one

That's its....I'm a done till after January....People ask how much do I spend on oils and products....Because I buy to last me about 3 months or more....I spend about $80 every few months .....Alot cheaper than what I used to pay ....$55 dollars a week going to the salon and more when I needed a relaxer or trim....So Im staying with Do - It -Yourself Hair Care...Theres no telling what they would charge me now

Magic-Grip Hairpins

First let me start by saying that I took the Denman Brush back to Sallys and got a full refund....

While I was there I picked up some Good Hair Days Magic-Grip Hairpins...I love them...They work great with my long , thick hair and they are so so comfortable...I dont even have to use a lot of them ...Just a few .....And its a lot safer then the normal hair pins we use...I bought a couple of packs of the clear ones ....

.....I bought a pack of clear ones to keep in my car....(sometimes I wear my hair down ..And I need pins in the car to pull my hair up). I put a few loose ones in my purse..Also....Love them

So Not Feelin The Brush

So I tried the Famous Denman Brush that everyone loves......

How do I explain this brush ? In all honesty it was too much brush for me...When I was detangling I could feel how strong the brush was......The way it stretched my hair from the roots...Made me uncomfortable right away.......No matter how careful I was I could hear a snap here and snap there....I only did a couple of small sections before I sat the brush down ...I picked up my Conair n Color brush and detangled the rest....I like the Conair way better ...No snaps ......Detangles easier

The Denman Brush was a little much for my relaxed strands...This is the perfect brush for the natural Ladies....So basically that was $8.50 plus tax down the toilet....

What a waste of money and a big disappointed....

Boys Will Be Boys

So yesterday I took my 14 year old to back to school night.....When I picked him up today he was a upset and embarrassed (How he put it) Because all his friends have crushes on me....He said how it upsets him to hear them talk about how fine his mother is....I explained to him that as long as they didn't say anything disrespectful about me its OK...I know its the protectiveness in him...But like I explained to him it would be crazy to lose good friends over something so petty....Boys your age hormones are raging and its normal.....Tell them that your father has good taste...Hahahaha

If its not one thing its another....

Up Coming Reviews

All the ladies suggested that I try the Denman brush...Well I was at Sallys today and saw the very famous DENMAN Brush....And this brush cost $8.99 .... So I stood in Sally trying to make up my mind to buy this brush...I have never spent $10 for a brush.. After taxes that is what I paid..... I'm hoping when I try it tomorrow I will like it.....

DENMAN Claims

So I went to CVS after to pick up my fathers medicine....I always find my way to the hair aisle in every store....I noticed that they had products from the Aussie line that Target doesn't carry`...Imagine that...Hahahaha...So far I have been loving their Moist Line...I still want to try the shampoo...But I'm not buying anymore shampoo till I finish the bottle I have..Today I bought the Aussie Hair Insurance Leave-in Conditioner

Photobucket

It Claims...

Married to its job. Burning the midnight oil. Any way you put it (which should

working
hard to ward off hair-related accidents....

Time To Restock

Ok .......So I just finished making myself prepoo and now I'm making myself write this blog...Its just one of those nights...I am so tired and sleepy....

Well Sat. I did a little shopping...I knew I was low on conditioner .....But Saturday after I shampooed I went to get some conditioner....And can you believe that every bottle of conditioner in the house was emptied ???...I was so so hot...How does something like that happen ??...So I tucked my wet hair in a bun and off to Target I went....This is what I bought..Also they were out of Nexxus Headress leave in so I have to go back for that but Herbal Essence Long Term Relationship leave-in (my second favorite leave-in) will do just fine for now...

Looks like a lot...But that is about a month and 1/2 worth of conditioner (not including the Vo5 Moisture Milks I co-wash with)...I go through a lot of conditioner ( The longer and thicker your hair grows ..The more product you use)...Sounds expensive but I am saving our family so much money...I used to get my hair done every Friday...$55 a week..Relaxer $75.... So $50 every 2 months in conditioner is really cutting back and saving

Now shampoo thats different..I have been working on one large bottle for about six months...This is Y.....I shampoo only 1x a week...And I am a lather once lady....I do this so my hair doesnt get stripped....And it works for me....
I also found another flexi head band...And a couple of none painful headbands... Oh the gold head band might not be comfortable..But it was so cute

I bought two brushes for detangling wet hair....Both Conair...I like the pink the best...What I did was after I deep conditioned I rinsed and applied my leave in and coconut oil ..Then detangled...The pink conair brush glided through my hair and removed any shedded strands..... I loved it...Im on the hunt for the perfect brush..

I will be back tomorrow and update this post with the names of the brushes...Sorry Ladies

My Hair Care Update

Sweet Like Honey....

So for like forever the ladies have been trying to get me to try the Honey in my conditioner...Raving about how wonderful it is...And I have to be honest...In my mind I was imagining sticky hair with honey everywhere....Just a sticky mess...

Well I looked in the cabinet the other day and said O why not give it a try....So after I shampooed and clarified with Apple Cider Vinegar and Water....I added about 2 tablespoons of honey into my conditioner ( Aussie Moist) and added some Coconut Oil and mixed it together...I applied it to my hair and covered my hair with a plastic cap ....I used my heating cap for about 45 mins....

I have to say ......Why O Why did I wait so long to try this....Before even rinsing my hair it was so so soft...I rinsed and was very happy....My hair was very moisturized and soft..Way softer than normal...

Next time around I will be adding a little more honey...I was nervous at first so I didn't use too much...But this is going down in the staples

Benefits

Honey is consider a natural Humectant ..Which means it attracts and retains moisture..

It holds onto water molecules

It attracts moisture from the air

It is high in vitamins and minerals

Aides in glossy and healthy hair

HeadBands

I love head bands but they can be uncomfortable at times and sometimes painfull....And I get tired of them falling backwards and you have to keep push them forward without messing up your hair...

While shopping at Walgreens I found a couple of alternatives..

The first are your old school cotton headbands...I love these with a bun or ponytail..Jeans or some sweats..Perfect for knock around gear...

Second is my favorite ..I have to find more..Its a flexible headband " Looks like a headband ..Feels like a head warp" The headband part is flexible and soft and it has a band similar to a elastic band that completes the circle ..This prevents it from sliding off your head...Walgreen's only had one style so I'm on the hunt for some more

Ok so its afternoon and I'm still prepooing from last night...Only because I had a stressed out morning today .......Which explains my last blog.. What usually happens is the next morning after prepooing all night ..I drop the kids off and then come home jump in the shower and go to work on this head...
Now its time to pick up the kids and I look like a hot mess.....

So I threw on a hat a little makeup and some gloss ...
A cute hat...Always comes in handy..

My husband and I are goers and are very active..But this trip we planned a little different..It is circled around spa treatments , room service, and romantic activities...We both need the down time and the alone time

1. Sculptured Baby Hair

Top 2 Questions Asked ...

OK...I get so many emails ...Asking 2 questions....

Question # 1

How do I achieve the most growth ?

Question # 2

How to I treat itchy scalp or dandruff ?

And guess what ....I give the same advise for both....Let me show u

First tip :

If you want growth ...Start by keeping your scalp clean so that your pores can breathe ...( Same for itchy scalp and dandruff)
KEEP YOUR SCALP CLEAN

This treatment I am about to show you is used to stimulate growth, treat itchy scalp, and rid dandruff and lice

Here is what I have done for months and I'm adding back to my regimen for growth ....

Ingredients:

Mix

Moisturizing Conditioner
Coconut Oil (optional)
Peppermint Oil
Rosemary Oil( Do not use Rosemary Oil if pregnant)
Eucalyptus Oil

Treatment:

Treatment is used as a prepoo overnight..Can be done before a Co-Wash or Shampoo...
There are no measurements because it has to do with tolerance...Peppermint , Rosemary and Eucalyptus Oils all give a cooling and menthol feeling...Start of with maybe 5 to 10 drops of each to test tolerance in your conditioner

Part hair in small sections...Cover scalp and apply to hair down to the tips...Cover with plastic cap and cover that with a scarf...Use a old pillow case..In the morning rinse and shampoo or co-wash hair..

I recommend doing this at least 2x a week ...( I will be doing this 3x a week)

Here are the benefits of each oils...

Peppermint Oil ....
Gives a cooling effect ..Removes dandruff and reduces itching and irritation, and stimulates growth (never apply directly to skin /always mix with something)

Rosemary Oil...
Promotes hair growth and is also used to remove and treats dandruff DO NOT USE ROSEMARY IF YOU ARE PREGNANT (never apply directly to skin/ always mix in something)

Eucalyptus Oil ...
Antiseptic which helps to get rid of dandruff. Stimulates blood circulation on the scalp, and encourages hair growth ( never apply directly to skin/always mix in something)

Coconut Oil ...
Conditions the scalp and stops fallen hair

When I started my hair journey I had major scalp issues...Bad dandruff and seriously itchy scalp...I saw results immediately...It cleared up all my scalp issues and it got me from Armpit Length to Bra-strap in a few months..And my hair thickened up... So I'm going back to the basics....

So research your oils...Your essential oils all do different things and you can work them into your regimen...To fit your needs

Tomorrows Bun

So I have a Teacher Parent Conference in the morning...Don't we love those...So I wanted to make sure my hair was done tonight...One less thing to do in the morning...So I got my Aloe Vera Mix...And whipped out K.I.S.S.'s Moisturizer (Don't mean to tease) and moisturized my hair and sealed with coconut oil...I slicked my hair up in a high pony-tail to do a bun and used aloe vera gel for my edges.. Here is a pic of my K.I.S.S. Moisturized Hair..

Photobucket

Then I styled my hair...So I decided to go with a medium high bun and head band.......I might wear a different color head band tomorrow ...After the pics I tied it up...And jumped in the shower...All ready for bed..And one less thing to do in the morning...

Another Aussie Review

Photobucket

As all of you know I have already fallen in love with Aussie Moist Conditioner...So I was excited about trying their 3 min Miracle Re constructor and 3 min Miracle Moisture Treatment...

Photobucket

I have to say it worked like a miracle..Hahaha..I loved it..And you know I usually have awful results with re constructors and protein treatments but not this time that was not the case

Here is what I did...

I prepooed overnight using Aussie Moist Conditioner mixed w/coconut oil...Then the next afternoon I rinsed and shampooed with Goldwell Kerasilk Shampoo and applied Aussie 3 min
re constructor and plastic cap for 3 mins...

Rinsed and I could feel the difference in my hair it was amazing....It felt stronger to the touch ...yet very soft and not really hard....I then applied the 3 min Moisture Treatment with a plastic cap for 3 mins and rinsed ....My hair is so soft its ridiculous...

I loved it .... The Trio is now apart of my staples.... Also I love the fact that the Re constructor is a light treatment and is light enough to be used daily for those who hair needs it and the protein (damaged hair)...And my hair smell Delicious

Oh and I almost forgot the best part ..... Its so affordable...The large bottle of Aussie Moist was maybe about 5 dollars and the 3 min conditioners were about $3 each at Target

Scunci Pillow Rollers

So I used to own these silk rollers...And over time I have lost some here and there so I am left with maybe 3 rollers...I loved these rollers and I can't even remember where I got them from...

So in search of my silk rollers ....I found these rollers by Scunci at Target and they are not bad....Now what type of material it is ...I don't know...But the cloth that covers it is so soft..My only concern about these rollers is it drying out my hair..So I will keep u guys posted on that..

Photobucket

Scunci Pillow Rollers

Claims

  • Extremely easy to use
  • no pins required

I actually really liked this...They stayed on all night and it gave me a really nice curl the next morning...And my braid out looked very natural on the ends...

Photobucket

I loved them and I will be picking up another pack at Target next week
