New Braid Regimen

For those that have been keeping up with my blog....You already know I got braids....For those of you that haven't...I got cornrows on Friday....

I did some reading and I came up with a regimen...I kept it simple...If I'm lucky I can get these Cornrows to last a month ...

I have been using my self moisturizing spray 2x a day( ingredients list in earlier post) And I have never had braids that are so so soft....I love it..

I'm 9 weeks post relaxers so this will help me stretch a little longer....I have always gotten really good growth with braids...The problem I always had was retaining the growth after I took out the braids...
So I'm excited because I have mastered how to retain my length...

Regimen in braids

1x a week spray scalp with watered down shampoo....
Rinse braids with water in shower...Using hose to only wet scalp and head ..Not the length of braids...
Spray braids with leave-in conditioner / Infusion 23
and my moisturizing spray
Tie down with scarf

Spray morning and night with moisturizing spray..
Cover with oil
Wear Satin scarf at night and during workouts

That's It

Updated Supplements List

So I have cut down on the supplements I take...Only because it is so expensive....All of my supplements that I pick are for health benefits, energy, & metabolism.. Also nutrients and vitamins to replace what I'm missing from not eating meats....

Got Some Braids.....

So on the spur of the moment ....I decided to braid my hair in corn rows...I can't braid to save my life ...hahahahahaha....So I called our family braider and after I begged... She fitted me in at the last minute ...All I wanted was a simple corn rows.....She did exactly that and didn't go fancy on me...

Because my hair is so long ...I didn't want my hair to be accidentally cut....So I had her braid it past waist length .....To be safe...
So this Monday I will be 9 weeks post......I so was ready to relax this weekend...So I will be able to stretch a while longer...Thanks to the braids...
Instead of doing braid sprays like I did I the past before my hair journey.....I wanted something that will moisturize my also and not just cover it in heavy smell good oils...
So I this is whats in my spray bottle
Neutrogena Triple Moisture
Aussie Leave-in
Glycerin
Rose Water
Avocado Oil
Coconut Oil
Melted Shea Butter
So that will be my moisturizer...I will moisturize morning and night with my mixture.....This is the first time I have worn braids since my hair journey...So Im going to do some research and I will let you know what my hair care regimen will be in the braids ...As soon as I figure out what that is going to be...
If you ladies have tips...Please share...

More Products...Reviews

So this month I tried two new leave ins....Aussie Cond Hair Insurance Leave-In & Neutrogena Triple Moisture Silk Touch Leave-In....

Photobucket Photobucket

When I tried the Aussie Leave-in I was disappointed because I love the Aussie Moist line...And the Aussie 3 min miracles .....Sorry but this leave in was crap....Sorry ...But I knew it came in a spray...But it was literally like water...It did nothing for my hair...Nothing...

The Neutrogena Triple Moisture I had heard so so many reviews on this stuff all positive...So I was excited about trying it...Well its a light creamy texture and it felt great in my wet hair...But after air drying I would ended up with a dry poof braid out...I tried it again to make sure it was the leave in and the same results...

So two leave in's and I hated both....So that I would not waste anymore money...I took a small spray bottle and mixed half and half of the Aussie Leave in and the Neutrogena Leave in and mixed in some Glycerin.....And it came out great....Thank God for Glycerin....I have been using it to spray my new growth and it has been working great....

So I was on another hair site and one of the ladies...Who has beautiful hair I might add....Said that she had went to Costco's and purchased the their Kirkland Brand Conditioner and how cheap it was and how much she loved it...

So I said this may be my answer to my problem....See I have been using way more conditioner since my hair is growing so much...And joining the K.I.S.S. Deep Conditioning Challenge
I am buying even more conditioner

So I ran down to Costco's to give it a try...Here is a little bit about it for $6.99 you get 2 40 oz bottles....So that 80 oz's for $6.99...Not Bad.....I hope I like it...

Looking Back At Me In The Mirror

When I look in the mirror

I see generations of my family

When I see the curve at the bottom of my top lip...

I see my fathers mother..May she rest in peace

When I see the slight slant of my eyes I see my cousins

When I smile... I see my mother's mother....
I even hear her every time I speak..
she had the same annoying voice...
I miss you Grandma

When I see my forehead and my long face and my light caramel skin ....I see my Aunt So So
She traveled around the world as a model in the late 1930's, she modeled until she was in her late 70's

When I see the mole/beauty mark over my mouth on the left side ... I see my Sisters.. Who all have one..

When I see my hands , my feet , the curve of my hips, and the curve of my behind....I see my Mother

When I look in the mirror ..I see Beauty...
Not vain beauty...
But I see beauty because I see all the women that I love

Some have gone ahead to heaven ..
Some are still are here with me

When I look in the mirror
I see generations of women in my family..I feel pride
When I look in the mirror
I see love ..
When I look in the mirror
I see me...

What would you do ????

K.....Well I still trying to make up my mind...I am so bored with my hair right now...But I have run into some obstacles....You see...hahahahaha...

My husband...Who I call the General....Is not corporating.....He is not feeling the scissors at all...Not bangs , not layers , not anything....So I have some convincing to do...He wants me to grow it as long as I can....He loves hair...

So ladies....This is a touchy topic to most women....But I want to hear it all...How much influence does he have ?????

Does his opinion about your hair matter or do you just do you....And its what you like because its your head...

Or do you compromise because you care what he thinks????

This Weekend

So this weekend my Husband and I drove up the coast a couple of hours to Santa Barbara...It was so nice to get away from Los Angeles....Nice to not see a familar face....Nice to have a break from the kids even though all of our conversations drifted back to them....The drive up was so nice...Driving up the coast with sun roof open was so relaxing...A chance to appreciate California in all its beauty....Our hotel was off the shore.....Right across from the ocean....And it was such a pretty view from our balacony ...Seeing the sun rise and set off the ocean was beautiful..Just a few pics..

Sex Over Beauty...Or Is it Beauty Over Sex...

So this morning when the sun entered the room ....I lay in bed with my eyes closed..... I could feel the pain...From the stomach down.. everything hurt....I mean everything...I could feel the burns on my back ...And all I could do was smile....Wow we had fun last night....It was amazing...He was amazing...

Today Nov 2nd is our 6th Year Wedding Anniversary .... Its funny how something as simple as a date on calender can spark a fire....(We go out of town this Thursday to celebrate..We rearranged our already set plans to make sure we were here to vote next week)..

After celebrating again this morning....Something says Traycee...Touch your hair..When I touched my hair I was horrified...My hair felt like hay....It was a dry tangled mess...It was bad ..I felt like crying.....Not only had I had my fun... but I passed out after and did not cover my hair or check the damage...The last thing on my mind was my hair..

Trying not to panic...I grabbed my Aloe Vera , Rosewater , and glycerin mix...Spritzed my hair really well...I then put a little Aussie Moist conditioner through my hair , covered it in Shea Butter and got my shower comb and carefully went to work..It took me about 30mins to detangle my hair....I lost a small hand full of hair in the process....Could have been worse it I had panicked...Thank God for patience...

At this point I felt like my wet hair was just coated in junk and still felt like straw...I just prayed that when it air dried it would be moisturized...I then added a huge amount to Avocado Oil to my hair and brushed my damp hair into a Low Pony Tail with a braid and put a roller at the end...And covered with a scarf.....Well my hair is almost dry now...And it is nice, soft, and moisturized..My hair absorb all the Shea and Avocado Oil

Problem Fixed...Now if I can figure out what do with these rug burns..Hahahahaha

So question ladies..How beauty obsessed are you ??? Do you stop in mid action and say wait let me cover my hair?? Is he allowed to pull a pony tail every now and then ?? Are you like me and anything goes and I will deal with the damage later ??
