I Got Bangs....

Well I decided to trim my hair a little more...So I took off alittle more of old ends....I did this because I changed my hair goal again.....I know what your thinking.....First my goal was bra strap and when I got there I changed it to MBL and that was it... I was stopping at middle back length....Then I got to middle back and wanted waist length..Now that Im at Waist Length ...I have changed my mind again...Now I want Hip Length by Dec.2009 ...Yep Hip Length....A women has a right to change her mind....hahahaha
Anyways while I was trimming my hair my Sister was cheering me on to cut some bangs again....I let my bangs grow out when I started my hair journey a year ago....And you know I was thinking about cutting some anyway....So that was all I needed...I cut some bangs and cut a little off the front so that my hair would frame my face...
Im seeing High Pony Tails with cute bangs...And so many different styles...I can rock with the bangs....Im happy I did another trim ( last trim was 2 weeks ago)...I just wanted to make sure I was starting the year right....So now Im only grazing WL...Im going to need about 4 to 6 inches by the end of the year to make Hip Length

This Morning Results Using Macadamia Oil

Ok...So I have been using the Macadamia Oil and Im loving it....I put it to the real test yesterday....I did a fresh braidout and after being out all day in the rain shopping .... That evening my hair was a dry brittle frizzy mess.....
I didnt use a moisturizer because I wanted to see how the Macadamia Oil would do on my hair.....I sectioned my hair and put lots of oil and braided it section....( I wasnt worried about the oil because I was going to bun the next day)...I did about 5 braided plaits....
After about a couple of hours I was blown away by the softness of my hair...It felt like I spritzed and moisturized.....Not like I just applied oil...So later on before I went to bed I applied more Macadamia Oil on over my braids and ends and slept with a satin bonnet on....
This morning I expected to wake up with my hair extra oily....But to my suprise the oil absorbed in my hair and and my waves were so so defined....And I have to say the shine from this is unbelievable....
I love the smell...Its a really soft nutty smell....It doesnt have a strong smell so it doesnt clash with my other products
I still need to go back and price the oils for you

Advanced PTC ceramic heating element for longer lasting iron - consistent heat and rapid heat up

Beveled plates allow true styling - flip, twist, straighten, and curl.
Protects color and retards fading
This Flat Iron runs about $ 129.00 but is on sell this week at Target for $89.00
Mmmmm... A Nutty Indulgence

I have a new oil....Macadamia Nut Oil...Let me tell you all about it...
Macadamia Oil is a priceless delight for the skin and hair.
It is called A regenerative oil . Its as close to being perfect as oil can get
Macadamia Nut Oil:
high in fatty acids;
antioxidant properties;
great moisturizer (and emollients attract and trap moisture from the air)
Great Oil to use as a carrier oil
Ingredients:
Calcium
Phosphorus
Iron
B Complex
Vitamin E
Omega Fatty Acids
pamitoleic acid
One of the highest amounts of Palmitoleic acid or Omega Fatty Acid than any other plant
It is also used to keep skin looking young and youthful because it contain pamitoleic acid ( something that young skin has naturally )
The high count of mono-unsaturated fatty acids makes the oil mimic the sebum of the scalp.... Sebum is a natural oil your scalp and skin produces to protect it and keep hair moisturize)
Macadamia oil is a GREAT for using as protective oil with high absorption rate and has been successfully used as a healing oil for scars, sunburns, minor wounds and skin irritations.
I can't wait to try it....
Tip : Always Buy Your Oils, Unrefined or Cold Pressed ...These types of oils still contain all of its vitamins, and nutrients
*** I bought the Macaodamia Oil from my local grocery store called Ralphs..They sell everything Coconut Oil, Avocado Oil, Macadamia Oil...And the list goes on and on...

My Battle With Split Ends

OK...I have another confession....I have this horrible obsession with split ends... I mean its really bad...Its gotten to the point where I have hidden hair scissors in different places...In my car, purse, bathroom , in the dresser next to my bed....If I even glance at my hair and see a split end ...I can feel the stress building up in me....Weird I know...But it gets worse...A couple weeks ago on my way home the sun hit my hair and I saw the ugliest split end...This hair was split like 4 times going up the strand....I couldn't find my scissors I keep in the car so I put the strand in my mouth so I would not lose it and can't find it later...Do you know I drove home with that strand in my mouth....Ran into the house and straight to the bath room to cut that split end...I even spend sometimes an hour or more in front of light looking and searching through each strands....
The sad part about it ...Is I remember when it all started..When I was growing up My Father did not allow us to cut our hair..Not trims ..Not nothing..He is a believer women should have hair which explains why I love hair so much...Anyways back to the story...I remember I had the biggest crush on this guy in school named Earl in my freshman year...Who did not even know I existed...Well I just got my hair done at the shop and thought I was hot stuff...And he walked up to me at my locker at school and said Wow Traycee I never saw you wear your hair down..Its really thick and long..But you need to let go of those split ends.It looks really bad...I almost passed out..I looked in the mirror and he was right ..My ends looked horrible...So that's how my obsession with ends all started....
Long hair means nothing if your ends look like crap..It takes all the beauty away..
One good thing since starting my hair journey is I don't get as many split ends as before...I have seen a dramatic decrease...First time in my life I truly believe I have finally won the battle..Now that I understand what causes them and tricks to avoid them...
Most Common Causes Of Trichoptilosis/ Split Ends ....
Over using heat styling tools
Over Use of chemicals ( from relaxers, perms, and color)
Extreme Weather ( cold, windy ,sun )
Lack Of Trimming
Trimming with Dull hair scissors or house scissors
Dry Ends
Brushing hair while wet
De tangling incorrectly
Towel Drying Hair
Things I Do To Keep Split Ends Away...
Keeping hair moisturized..Dry hair is more prone to split ends
Using a leave in and a heat protector before using heat
Never blow drying dripping wet hair
Staying away from uncovered elastic bands
Avoiding direct heat to hair
Only De tangling with Leave in Conditioner using a Wide Tooth Comb ( or in the shower with conditioner)
Cutting down on the use of chemicals..For me that was relaxing less times a year
Moisturizing ends nightly
When shampooing I never pile hair on top of my head..I apply the shampoo to my roots and run the shampoo down through my ends carefully keeping hair hanging straight down (Less Tangles)
I never use really hot water on hair ( Unless washing out relaxer)
Deep Conditioning at Least Once a week and always using a leave in Covering hair at night with Satin or Silk Dusting Ends Often Finding oils like, Coconut Oil , and Avocado Oil Air drying hair naturally
