Steaming At Home

I know some of this gets a little redundant ...But I go over my regimen so many times because that is how some learn..

Today was my first day back to the gym since getting over the flu....Today was just a cardio day...So I did 1 hour on the Elliptical Machine....

When I got home I jumped in the shower...Here is something that I always like to do ...

Before starting my shower..I shut the bathroom door and shower the door ...That way I take full advantage of the steam..

I turn the shower on just warm water so that I won't damage my hair....I then rinsed my hair really well and add my conditioner(GVP Tea Trea Conditioner)and gently massaged into my hair and scalp...Rinsed well ...Then I applied more conditioner to my hair...Twisted my hair up and then clip it up ....
Next I turn the hot water up in the shower...The hot water always feels so good..As the steam fills the bathroom it is so so relaxing ..I took about 15 min shower..Letting the hot water relax my tight muscles...The steam + conditioner = Soft Conditioned Moisturized Hair...

Before rinsing I turn down the heat then rinse....Always making sure I remove all conditioner from my scalp...

I then Lightly wrap hair in a towel while I dry off and apply my Shea Butter to my skin...When I finished..I unwrapped my hair and it felt like silk....My hair loves the steam....And I can't wait to get my steamer for my hair and face...

I applied Herbal Essences Long Term Relationship Leave-In Conditioner to my hair..And then my Macadamia Oil...Braided in 5 plaits with satin rollers on the ends...

I'll damp bun in the morning..

I'm looking into purchasing a steamer for my hair (fingers crossed) in the next month. They are soooo expensive. I'm a relaxer stretcher and I think that will help with the 2 textures. I may have to try your "budget steam" method and see how it works. Thanks for the idea!

Traycee, I just bought all these products over the weekend to sign up for the challenge(I have to figure out how to post my picture)I have a feeling I have too much product on my hair. What was your regime this morning before puttint it in a bun? Thanks. I will try an email you what I'm currently using. I use the same stuff at night before braiding and then turn around and do it again before bunning.

Wow, that sounds so refreshing. It's a cool motivator for me to step on my treadmill.

I'm glad you always post what you do to your hair on a daily basis. It gives me reminders about different parts of your regimen, which is good!

We live in UK.
My sister and I both have steamers and it's well worth the investment. I have relaxed hair and my sister has locks and our hair is left soft and silky.

Hello,

I'm looking into purchasing a steamer (a real steamer with steam) and not a large hairdryer that I have been subjected to on ocassions when visiting hairdressers.

I have been searching on the internet, but have not yet found any real reviews, or recommendations. Could anyone please recommend a suitable make, website or supplier with realistic prices and a choice?

My hair is black /afro- naturel, and I would love to steam my daughter's hair too, so a steamer that doesn't burn the back of your neck would be great.

Thank you for any time and advice.

Best wishes.
