Went 2 Sallys Today

I stopped at Sallys today and picked up a few of the things I will need to do my hair next week .
I bought a cheapie flat iron...I know like I really need another flat iron ..But all the ones I have are 1 inch or 1 and something...I really needed a larger flat iron and a flat iron with temp. control..
The flat iron is Helen of Troy Ceramic Series
2 1/4" Ceramic Titanium Flat Iron with Floating Plaits..I didn't think it looked to bad for a cheapie
Reaches up to 450
Pulse Auto Heat Control provides consistent temps
Fast Heat and Instant Heat Recovery
Pilot light
On/off switch
Variable Heat Settings
Rounded plate edges to curl hair under or flip
8ft power cord
Floating Plates eliminate gaps ( gaps that snap and pull hair)
If you haven't noticed that's not my Just for Me Relaxer...I decided to switch to something different...Thanks to the convincing of a close friend

  1. Traycee,

Are you going to post the process you use to relax your hair? I think it's amazing how fabulous your hair looks given that you relax and take care of it yourself. How do you manage to avoid the hair breakage and split ends that often accompany relaxers? Please share!

    Thanks,
    Sandy

  2. Oh my gosh, it is a GOD-send that you picked up that Silk Elements relaxer because I've been contemplating whether I should use that or the Hawaiian Silky... I can't wait to see the review. I already picked up a jar a couple of weeks ago because it was on sale and wasn't 100% sure if I would use it... if you give it a good review then I'll probably give it a shot.

  4. Traycee!!!!!! I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!! You and Sunshyne are the BEST! Anyways.. i have been debating should i get that ion swimmers shampoo! actually before i just clicked on here, i was on sallys, I WANT THAT POOL BAG! LOL.. That silk elements relaxer is good, but (this is just me) it burns SO BAD! Just pleaseeee base your scalp about 3 times LOL.. But i know that YOU know what to do!! And i love using the 2 min aphogee right after i rinse out the relaxer. I thought that was crazy at first, but my hair had so much body!! I relaxed, did the aphogee for about 20 mins, and then i nuetralized like 2-3 times! I now use the mizani butter blend system. I REALLY love their scalp base, and the honey sheild per treatment to put on my already relaxed hair! But anyways.. im so ready to see your results!! WE LOVE YOU GIRL!!!! =)

  5. Although I've only used that relaxer once -my first experience with lye- I loved it! It was the best relaxing experience I've ever had. I'm stretching right now, but at the end of the summer -I'll be around seven months post- I'm def going to be using SE.

  6. Can someone recommend a relaxer, I guess a no-lye, are they more healthy for your hair? I have fine very fine thin hair, and my scalp burns. My hair dresser can't seem to get it right as far as giving me a relaxer that doesn't burn my very thin hair. She put's it on me like I've been scratching, and I haven't. She even claimed to put a organic (salon organic) relaxer in and that it wouldn't burn, and sure enought, it did. I am fed up and I am thinking about going natural only because I think these relaxers are thinning my hair and destroying my folicles.

  9. Traycee, I can't believe it but are you switching over to lye. I thick you should stick with no-lye because your hair looks nice and thick. I am wondering if lye will take away that thickness.

  10. I recently switched to lye & didn't like the silk elements relaxer. it left parts of my tightly-coiled hair under processed. The last time I relaxer, I tried ORS LYE, it's so much better. My hair feels moisturized & silky

  11. i use the same exact relaxer except i have it in mild....make sure u base your scalp very well lol..but when you rinse it out your hair will feel so soft and thick..then the neutralizing shampoo will strip your hair :( and it stinks.but the relaxer itself is good p.s. i also used this relaxer when i switched from no-lye to lye

  12. Umm!..... I’m also afraid of the no-lye to lye switch………please let us know how it goes , I keep reading this relaxer is really good.

  13. This is the relaxer that I have been using since 2007. I love it. I do add a few drops of oil in it, my hair comes out so soft after this relaxer.
