Craving Some Girliness...

My normal routine is going to the gym almost daily....Co wash or wash..I airdry in a bun, ponytail or ofcourse a braidout..Which only last until the next workout....Don't get me wrong my hair is loving it....Its really thriving off this routine...

But I'm tired of it...Today was wash day and I deep conditoned on dry hair...Rinse and cleaned my hair with Hair One...Next I applied Roux Porosity Conditioner and let it sit on my hair while I showered....Rinsed.Towel dried a little.....I sprayed my roots and hair with CHI Keratin Mist....Thats when I realized I'm out of all my leave ins....So I used the Mane n Tail Moisturizing /Texturizing Conditioner as a leave in ...Next applied a bit of oil and detangled again....After that I used my applicator to lightly oil my scalp with my Castor Oil
I used Silk Elements Designing Silk Mousse to do about 14 or 15 bantu knots....I did it different this time ......I did the bantu knots on wet hair ( I have only did them on dry hair)...I also tried out the Bantu Twist Out...Meaning I did a two strand twist before making it into a Bantu Knot..
I sat under the dryer for 1 1/2 and my hair was almost dry....I'm going to leave them in till in the morning and post pics for you guys..

While under the dryer...The Hubby was like...Come on lets go to the gym.....I told him I was doing my hair and I will go tomorrow...He could not believe I was putting hair before fitness...YEP I SURE AM....I just want to be a Lady for 24-48hrs without the gym being in the way..Yep Im going to rock my curls till Wed. then I will be back at the gym...

OK...So I just got back under the dryer for another 30 mins to make sure my hair will be completely dry tomorrow...This reminds me of why I hate rollersets...The dryer...My dryer gets so hot ....Does any one else get dry eyes while under the dryer ???

  1. My eyes always dry out under there. I've also given up on the dryer, I airdry and flat iron or just airdry. Make sure to get some eye drops for sitting under there, I have chronic dry eye and being under there kills me!

  2. I love the Bantu twist out. It's usually how I wear my hair when stretching to blend the two textures. Can't wait for the pics!

  3. be careful with the castor oil. i put it on my scalp befor my perm and it got on my new growth. My hair is now underprocessed. Not sure what to do yet.

  4. @ Anonymous...Whew I thought I was alone on that one...

@ Mystique...I don't think this is something I will do often doing my stretch because it was so much manlipulation for me..

@ Anonymous...I clarify and I don't oil my scalp with anything the week of my relaxer for that very reason..

  6. I hate the dryer. That's why I started air drying.

  7. I try to make the drying process more entertaining by setting up my dryer right in front of the computer. Being under there is such a long, arduous process!

Can't wait to see the pics! Oh, & I always clarify the week before my relaxer. Nothing on the scalp is the way to go =)

  8. I know what you mean about wanting to be girly for a change. I am training for a marathon and have been looking like who-did-it-and-why for months now! I'll be glad when Oct. 11 rolls around, and I can pay attention to my hair again!

  9. thanks for the pic of the bantu knots - i had no idea what they were before that - in jamaica we call them chiney bumps - lol.

and yes - my eyes get dry from being under the dryer too. @ home i have a soft bonnet dryer and i usually try to make the most of the time by giving myself a mani/pedi while i'm under there. but sometimes (espec in the summer) it feels like a torture that's just too much to bear - lol.

  11. Yes inge! =) we call them chiney bumps...memories! When I was younger my mom would wash my hair on a sunday and do that while my natural hair air dryed. I didn't like them so much then.

  12. My eyes dry out so I usually try to keep either my glasses on or put a washcloth over my eyes while I am under the dryer. Even on medium heat the dryer is brutal.
