I didn't detangle yesterday like planned....I was just too tired...I ended up applying Giovanni 50:50 Hydrating Conditioner to my hair from root to tips ...Making sure I covered my new growth well....Then I applied Kemi Oyl over the conditioner....I then applied some Castor Oil/almond oil to my scalp only...Covered my hair with a plastic cap and scarf and went to bed..After I dropped off the kids at school...I jumped in the shower rinsed and cleaned my hair with Hair One...Jumped out the shower and sprayed my hair with Chi Keratin Mist..
Detangling was a breeze....
The problem came after it airdried and I couldn't style it for crap...My hair looked like a hot mess....The scarf method just didn't lay down my edges like normally...
I'm so happy that I didn't have to work or anything...
It may not have even been that bad....I'm just tired of wearing this bun !!!
This evening I put about 10 bantu knots in my hair and tomorrow I will put it in a high ponytail for the next couple of days....Hopefully it will come out decent looking....
_____________________________________
Here are the results.....Everyday seems to be a bad hair day....I can't take the edges and nape...Blowing out my roots are not a option b/c of the gym ....Look at the kitchen ...The more gel or products I apply to it the more it draws up....Love my texture..But I need to do one look or the other...The 2 textures looks bad with me being in front of the camera and working behind the scences on different sets....Buns or out of the question and braids outs don't come out right this far into my stretch...
I really wanted to stretch for at least 4 months ...But ready to throw in the towel and relax by the new year when I return back to work....
Suggestions , ideas ...Anything you can give to make this stretch last longer would help.....
Doesn't look bad if you can't see the edges ans nape right !!!

Hi Traycee! why don't you braid your hair? it can help you for your stretch and you can co wash without any problem after gym.
And if your braids look bad after few months, you can wear thick headbands to hide edges and nape.
im having the same problem right now...so i just do my best to hide those areas! LOL one thing that does help smooth them a bit for me is spraying oil sheen and using a boar bristle brush, like the ones guys use (except a little softer) = ] good luck!
your hair is long enough to cover your "kitchen" just strategically place a mid-height pony or banana clip style/faux mohawk (i know there isn't a banana clip on earth to actually hold ur hair). it really doesn't look as bad as u think! and i'm so happy detangling was a breeze for you!
Have you ever tried - Fantasia ic (Hair Polisher) Styling Gel w/ Sparkling Lites.
It has NO ALCOHOL! DOES NOT FLAKE and it lays my baby hair and nape down something fierce! Not all hard and fake looking but super soft and not sculpted at all!
It also has aloe and wheat protein. It's the clear one in the clear packaging.
If anyone else is a fan - let Tracee know about it!
Hi Traycee,
Try either IC Hair Polisher Solid Ice Pomade or Proclaim Crystal Ice they are similar to gels but, more solid & they lay your hair down flat; even as you are applying. You can buy either product at Sally's so if you don't like it you can take it back. ;^D
That style is hawtttt!!! Love it!
Have you ever tried herbal medicated shampoo, I recommend you to give it a try. do not use excess use of blow hair dryers.
i'm doing the same thing! i was so encouraged & inspired by your recent posts! keep up the good work Traycee!
i nominated you for a blog award.

your hair is frikkin gorgeous and i love the style in pics you showed! ... maybe you should try the caramel treatment or coconut cream relaxer?
Gurl, bring back the flat twists/cornrolls in the front. By bring it back, I mean take it back to the late 1990's. Its cute and will solve your problem in the front. The back... ???
I'm glad, but sad, to hear you say this, because this is how my hair behaves during my stretch. I think EbonyCPrincess had a good idea. Another alternative is to set your hair on huge rollers to smooth out the edges (I know you don't want to do a full rollerset, and I do not blame you - you could even just do it around the crown). Finally, a cute head band or scarf would cover everything - and I know you can WORK a headband or a scarf!
Also, thanks for posting pictures and sharing all these details - it just helps so much!
I knw how you feel. i workout 4hrs a day (2 in the morning and 2 at night)My hair is always wet from co-washes. What seems to help for is me is to do a Mohawk Braidout. I put rubberbands in the mid- section and the back and that helps to smooths my edges. You can see a pic on my page. Hope this helps. Don't give up. You inspires alot of us. Stay Bless.
Im just starting my journey and imabout 9weeks and my hair seems like it wont do anything especially due to my amazing amount of shrinkage.....It just sits there ugh and im only a little under shoulder length so not many creative cute protective styles....
Hey Traycee!
Try the Fantasia ic (Hair Polisher) Styling Gel w/ Sparkling Lites.
I combine that with Luster's No Drip S Curl and slicks your edges done like no tomorrow. Only thing it defines the curl pattern. So I only do it when I where my hair back in a banana clip. But it very shiny and it doesn't flake at all. It's amazing and so pretty.
Maybe you should invest in the Root Control. I purchased one this past weekend on clearance at Ulta for $49.00 REG.$179. at Target. They are also the same price right now at Target. This thin had my kitchen and edges looking like I had a relaxer!
