Yay ...Spring is here !!!

I didn't work out today..Only because my husband and I ended up running errands and picking up medicine for Ant Man...My hair right now is so so soft...I love it...I can see a huge change since using the hair one..Tonight I just spritz my new growth with my Aloe Vera Mix ....And put Avocado Oil on the rest of my hair ...Then sealed with GVP Silk Treatment....Put my hair into a neat bun and cover with my scarf...

I'm so happy its Spring...Now I just have to wait for the weather to figure that out....I love spring colors....I redid this blog with the honey and bee's in honor of spring...Also because I'm loving the honey in my Deep Conditioners right now...I also made K.I.S.S. Network more colorful...

I just finished changing the theme in my kitchen to a peach(the fruit) theme...Its really pretty the colors are peach ,green, cream....Now I just need to redo my bedroom colors...I will probably go shopping for that this weekend...I like to change the colors to match the different seasons...I'm just one of those types of people....I love our place we call home...And I put lots of love into it..Because I want it to feel like a home to my boys ...If that makes any sense at all....I guess keep a well kept house is one of the ways I say I love you..

So Far So Good

I'm relaxing in bed right now drinking some Hot Tea...The house is completely quiet...After I finish this cup ...I will have no problem going to sleep...I just feel so relaxed..Not tired just very relaxed...After I finished my workout ...I laid down in the Sauna for 20 mins...And it just completely relaxed me..

I deep conditioned in the sauna....Before going into the sauna I applied GVP Conditioning Balm to dry hair in small sections ..Then pulled hair up in a bun and covered with plastic cap...When I removed the plastic cap after I was done my hair was so soft ...After I got home I jumped in the shower and rinsed hair for a couple of minutes..Then used my Hair One again...I'm falling in love with this stuff...Even as I type this right now ..My scalp feels so refreshed and my hair is super soft..I'm not having any of the issues I was having with my scalp since using this....I guess the combination of the Tea Tree Oil on my scalp and the Hair One was a good mix...

Well my cup of Tea is gone and my eyes are heavy....So I'm off too sleep

Before reading remember I have never tried Wen...So I don't know how it compares

I tried for the first time Hair One Tea Tree for Dry Scalp...Yesterday evening...
I couldn't tell if I would like this until my hair air dried..Because my hair was so soft already when I got in the shower..

I air dried in 4 plaits overnight with a scarf..And this morning when I took down my braids my hair was so so soft and moisturized..Maybe too moisturized...I'm going to have to watch that...I followed the directions and I loved it...

This left my hair so clean...I was shocked it was almost like I shampooed..I went back to Sally's today and bought 2 more bottles...Another bottle of the Tea Tree and the Olive Oil for dry hair..

For my leave in I used Long Term Relationship Leave In ,Avocado Oil and GVP Silk Treatment for a little protein...

I plan on using this after every workout( 4-6x a week) ..Instead of just washing my scalp...

I plan on using the Dr Bronners Magic All In One Shikaki Soap 1x a week or once every two weeks...I'm not sure yet .... I'm still building this new regimen

Sunday's Routine

Sunday after my workout....In the gym locker room I added a little GVP Conditioning Balm Conditioner to hair and a little GVP Silk Infusion Serum and covered with plastic cap...Covered that with a scarf then jumped in the sauna then steam room...I left the conditioner in hair after finishing up until I got home...

After getting home I mixed GVP Green Tea Conditioner with Coconut Oil and Honey....I applied that to my hair over the conditioner already in my hair....I sat with a heating cap for 45mins then jumped in the shower and rinsed well....

Applied my Dr Bronners Magic All In One Shikaki Soap to scalp and massaged into a lather...Then a applied a little more to the length of my hair...Rinsed and softly wrapped hair in my towel while I moisturized my skin...

Because my Husband and I was going to dinner ...I then applied Long Term Relationship Conditioner and then some Macadamia oil to hair and sat under dryer with hair hanging straight down till hair was about 90 % dried......

Sectioned off my bangs ....Next parted my hair and then applied my Tea Tree Oil mix to my scalp and massaged for a few minutes

Added just a little Avocado Oil to hair and sealed with a little Vitamin E Oil....Pulled hair back into a neat low bun...And ran the flat iron just threw my bangs....

That's it....

Benefits of Shikaki :
Shikaki has a low PH it cleanses the hair and scalp without stripping hair of its natural oils :

Shikaki is from a Nut Tree and have been used to treat sensitive scalps and cure or control dandruff:

Shikaki strengthens hair roots and promotes luxuriant growth. Because of all of Shikaki amazing benefits...Shikaki has been the name "Fruit for The Hair"

My Review : Dr. Bronners Magic "All In One " Shikaki Soap :

I used the Lavender Scented One shown in the pic above

My first reactions to this soap was it was strange....It was black or very dark brown and squirts out like water..And to be honest it didnt really lather....I didn't really care for the smell but I smelled the lemongrass and it smell good and I'm looking for their Spearmint- Peppermint one also..

After washing with it twice my hair was so so clean...It felt like I had clarify but my hair was super super soft and it didn't feel stripped like shampoos....I love it!!!

I get the gentle Dr Bronners Soap benefits without having to mix it up with oils and water...This is already mixed up and it saves me a little bit of time ...I also get the benefits of Shikaki without doing all the boiling and mixing powders

Its a keeper ...I liked it a lot...I will use up the bottle of lavender..But I want the lemongrass and spearmint and peppermint Shikaki Soaps..
This is what I will be using now...

Tea Tree Oil ..PLEASE COME SAVE THE DAY !!!

Here is a update.....

Because I have been training hard and only doing co-washes during the week and washing only once a week..My scalp is going crazy right now..Its horrible...Just itching like crazy....When my peppermint oil treatment didn't work...I knew it was more...

Well to make a long story short my itches is caused by sweat leaving bacteria on my scalp ( Which co-washing alone can't remove) ...So Gross I know....But I'm sharing hoping this information can help someone else also that maybe going through the same thing...

Mind you my looks hair smells great and my hair is in the best condition...But my scalp the last week has been driving me crazy ...And we all know if your scalp is unhealthy it is just a matter of time before it effects the hair, slow growth and can cause hair loss....And I can not allow that to happen

Sweating a lot causes so many things because fungus and bacteria grows in moist warm areas.(My thick buns) ..So it is common for athletes or people who train hard to get Athlete's Foot, Jock itch , or in my case scalp issues

This is what I was told by a professinal to use to fix my problem....I was told to apply Neosporin AF to scalp nightly or apply Tea Tree Oil nightly as a antiseptic.....Only problem is I could not find Neosporin AF anywhere...I was told it is very important not to use the regular Neosporin that you put on wounds and cuts...It has to be Neosporin AF used for Athlete's foot...But you know I found Tea Tree Oil with no problem....

I bought 2 bottles of pure tea tree oil...And mixed it with one bottle of Hollywood Brand Tea Tree Oil because it is not completely pure and has other oils mixed in...So I used the Hollywood to dilute the pure Tea Tree Oil. ( Don't apply pure Tea Tree Oil directly to skin without diluting with another oil.. Can cause skin irritation)...I added a few drops Vitamin E and couple of drops of glycerin in the bottle ...And I will be applying this to my scalp nightly.

Why Tea Tree Oil

Tea Tree oil comes from a Tea Tree

Is a very effective antiseptic and fights fungus..It also promotes tissue healing..You can get rid of Itchy, dry, scaly or oily scalps..Because it can remove the fungus on scalp and heal the scalp...Tea Tree unblocks clogged hair follices, moisturizes and keeps scalp clear of fungal and bacteria ....

Tea Tree also removes products left on the scalp..

Pure Tea Tree Oil is very strong and used incorrectly can cause irritation..

Can Tea Tree Oil grow faster hair ?

Well Tea Tree Oil reduces inflammation around the scalp, unclogs pores , rids scalp of bacteria and fungas allowing the hair to grow through the scalp easier and in some cases faster

My Plan

Now after working out ...I will apply my soap to just my scalp and clean scalp well...Rinse scalp ....Then do my normal Co-wash...So that my hair doesn't dry out.

I also have been taking Benadryl around the clock so that I will not itch and scratch..This will allow my scalp to heal...

I'm a little happy about not being able to find the Neosporin AF....It just sounded so scary....I feel a lot safer using the tea tree oil because I know its all natural...And it made my scalp feel all tingly and great...

Only con so far is that I'm walking around smelling like medicine...But oh well ...It would just break my heart if this causes me to have a set back...So I will do what the doctor ordered and use the tea tree nightly ...I'm ending my 7th week post relaxer...So I won't be relaxing until this problem is fixed

Prepooing With Vitamin E Oil

Last night I prepooed with Vitamin E Oil ...I was able to find one IU of 56,000 but I found online one that is pure rand IU is 70,000 so I'm going to order that on line from Amazon....

I simply applied the vitamin E oil to the roots down to the ends of my hair ....Massaging into my scalp...I covered with a plastic cap and washed and deep conditioned the next morning
Vitamin E Oil is very very thick...

The next morning when I removed my plastic cap..My hair was amazingly soft...It was like I deep conditioned all night..It was great...Because the oil is so thick ...When I washed my hair with 1 lather it didn't remove all the oil...So I followed up with Conditioner and baking soda to clarify...Rinsed ....Then washed again only lathering once with my Dr Bronners to remove all oil..So be prepared to clarify after prepooing with this oil...

I personally would never use it for styling or a daily oil....Its just to thick....But this is going to be my weekly prepoo....
I seriously encourage Vitamin E Oil to anyone that is suffering dry, brittle, lifeless hair or split ends.

Vitamin E softens the hair and its antioxidant properties protect the hair from damage due to oxidation
It also reduce breakage and split ends caused by dryness.

When Purchasing Vitamin E oil purchase pure Vitamin E oil..Smaller bottles and usually the clearer in color are pure Vitamin E oil...I also would recommend not using one less than IU 32,000

Tip: Don't have time to prepoo overnight...Leave on at least one hour before shampooing..Also u can use Vitamin E Supplements...By cutting the capsules open and squeezing out the oil

Random

I'm only 5 weeks post but I have so much new growth.....I'm happy that I am having another growth spurt...I truly am...But its going to be a long 3 weeks before I can relax again..My hair is growing nicely so I just need to make sure I keep my ends healthy and I retain all my length...

I don't plan on doing any length checks for a while....I was going to flat iron for my Birthday...But I changed my mind...I may not flat iron for a few months...Buns and braid outs for me...I retain the most length that way

I went to the gym today and did a light work out....I only did 1hr of cardio and a couple hundred crunches...
Before working out ...I slicked my hair in a pony tail and moisturized...Made one big braid and workout..After finishing and washing up ....I un braided my braid...And I had nice soft waves...I spritzed my edges and pony tail with glycerin and water and sealed with GVP Silk Infusion...Put on a cute head band and was good to go

Baking Soda Review

Over the last couple weeks...I have been in need of some good clarifying....I could actually feel the build up on my hair when it was wet....In the past... I would just pull out my clarifying shampoo...But since I said goodbye to shampoo's ...I thought about Baking Soda....

I have heard many reviews about baking soda.... Both good & bad...That' s why I never tried it...It just sounded really scary to me...You know before trying something new ...I have to get advise first...K.I.S.S. Network came to the rescue....Everyone had many different methods of using it ...Some mixed baking soda with water, some with shampoo, some with conditioner...

I decided to mix it with conditioner...I took about 1 cup of moisturizing conditioner and mixed in 3 tablespoons of Baking Soda...After applying I immediately felt a huge difference

I LOVED IT.....

Quick Overview on Today's Regimen...

After working out..I added GVP Conditioning Balm to dry hair & covered with plastic cap before getting in the steam room...After getting out of the steam room I added a little more conditioner to my hair ..And slicked my hair back into a neat bun...Covered with a scarf while I freshened up and changed...

When I got home

  1. I rinsed conditioner out

  2. Applied Conditioner & Baking Soda Mix to hair....Staying away from scalp...Ran the conditioner through my hair really well ...( Like Co-Washing)

  3. Rinsed thoroughly

  4. Next I washed hair with my Dr.Bronners Mix ( Lathering only once)...My hair was so so clean.....All residue gone..Yay.

  5. Deep Conditioned with GVP Conditioning Balm/Honey/Macadamia Oil with heat for 45 mins

  6. Rinsed and applied Long Term Relationship Leave In , Avocado Oil, GVP Silk Infusion ...

  7. De tangled in sections and braided hair in 6 Braided Plaits with Satin Rollers at the ends ( I did more braids than normal ..For a neater and tighter( shorter) Braid Out

Total Time 1 hr 10 mins

Clarifying with Baking Soda was heaven sent ...I can not explain to you how soft my hair is right now...I also noticed after I deep conditioned ...The baking soda calmed and stretched my new growth..Detangling was a breeze..WHY DIDN'T I TRY THIS EARLIER...

Scalp Woes

Last night I did my normal co wash ...Put my leave in and GVP Silk Infusion ...Braided in braids and covered in my scarf for bed..

I woke up this morning...And my scalp was itching like crazy....I mean itching horribly....I immediately knew what it was.....Because it has happened before...My scalp does not like anything on it...It likes to be clean of oils and conditioner....

Well it was what I thought it was...I didn't rinse all the conditioner off my scalp when I co-washed...I could even see conditioner on my scalp when I looked in the mirror...What was I thinking?

This is how I fixed it...I keep my Dr. Bronners Mix in a bottle with spout....I took a towel and put it around my neck...And took the Dr. Bronners Mix...And applied only to my scalp..My hair is still dry...I didn't rinse first....After I applied to enough of my scalp...I put my fingers into my scalp and gently scrubbed my scalp ...The only part that lathered was my scalp and hair maybe a inch away from my scalp....After cleaning my scalp...I rinsed thoroughly...

Problem fixed...No more itching...I was able to remove the left over product from my scalp and keep my hair moisturized....YAY !!!

Benefits In Using Steam Rooms

So I went to the gym today...I had a really good work out...I followed up with the steam room...I added a some conditioner to my hair and a little oil and deep conditioned in the steam room...Came home and co-washed in the shower..

Benefits of Vitamin C

The main reason I take Vitamin C is it improves the absorption of iron, glucosamin & other nutrients critical to healthy hair growth. Vitamin C aids in improving scalp circulation.

I learned this some years back from being Anemic...Accept I would take my vitamins and supplements with a glass of Orange Juice...
Now I just take a couple of chewable Vitamins C's with my Vitamins & Supplements..

Nail Envy by OPI

Well ....I basically have reached my short term beauty goals and I am very proud of myself..I'm almost at my fitness goal..I'm almost at my hair goal...

What next ??? Nails...I always keep my nails cut short and shaped only because they get ruined doing all the household cleaning and stuff....I decided now to work on sexy hands...

Its always something about beauty...And right now its important to me...All women go through different changes as they turn 30 and beyond...My birthday is 9 days away...And I turn 32 years old...

I think I figured out what the big deal is....

Pampering myself , and keeping myself up ..Makes me feel young..

Even deeper..Its something for me...For TRAYCEE...I spend all of my time taking care of kids, and taking care of my Husband..Always giving myself to others...

But having a hair journey , and fitness journey is something that is for TRAYCEE..Something I'm doing for myself..I guess its my way of keeping TRAYCEE alive...See so many women get married and have children and completely lose themselves...

Anyways back to the subject at hand...My nails...Since I'm already taking the supplements why not take full advantage of them..

Only thing is .... I don't know where to start...hahahha...I did go purchase Nail Envy by OPI (Soft & Thin)...I will be tracking my progress...

I'm going to make a effort to always protect my hands while cleaning ...Now I know one of those oils I have ..Has got to be beneficial for my nails and cuticles...I just need to research and find out which ones..

The directions for the Nail Envy...

To strengthen soft and thin natural nails, apply two coats of Soft & Thin Nail Envy, followed by one coat every other day.

Saturdays Hair Regimen

After skipping my weekly co-washes and middle of the week deep condition last week.Only because of straight exhaustion....I gave my tresses tender loving care Saturday...I started by deep conditioning with heat on dry hair for 2 1/2 hours ( While I watch a movie and chatted with a friend online)....I deep conditioned with GVP Conditioning Balm mixed w/Honey and Macadamia Oil...Next I rinsed and washed with my Dr Bronners Mix...Followed up with a Apple Cider Vinegar Rinse...( 1/4 cup of ACV 2 cups of Water) .Rinsed out thoroughly...Last added my Herbal Essence Long Term Relationship Leave In and GVP Silk Infusion Serum ....De tangled and braided in five braids...The next morning I was left with the softest , moisturized, light and bouncy braid out....It was so pretty..It hurt to throw it back in a bun...I was going to the gym ..It had to go up.....

I spent 2 hours at the gym....It was great...I got a really good lower body workout with weights , cardio , and stomach work out....Then finished up with the steam room....And that's when I broke my own rules....I never go into the steam room with out adding a little conditioner to my hair ....Well I forgot to bring my conditioner...And I got in the steam room anyways hoping that the leave in and oil I applied last night would just penetrate and I would be straight..Well I was wrong..It didn't ....My hair felt great leaving the gym...But by the time I got home ..My hair was dying of thirst...It was a dried out mess...You would have never thought I had just deep conditioned the day before....

When I got home I dusted my ends ...Got rid of those dry tips...Best thing about dusting is you never lose your length....Next I wet my hair just a little and added just a little of my Long Term Relationship Leave In...Next I took my Avocado Oil and Applied it unselfishly to my hair and ends....Sealed with GVP Silk Infusion ...My hair immediately turned soft...Then I pulled my hair back up in its bun...And covered with my scarf....I undid my bun tonight and its soft and moisturized....That Avocado Oil is the bomb...hahahaha

My Opinion About Beauticians....Controversial Warning

Let me first start by saying...I have been blessed in life to find one of the best beauticians ever...I have been blessed to have her for many, many, many years....Since I was about 8 or 9 years old..Mrs. Jennifer...She owned a shop in Orange County , Ca ...She recently sold it because she is retiring soon ...She still works in it though...This is the only woman that I trust with scissors in their hands....Hahahahaha...Im laughing but I'm very serious....If I want 1 inch taken off ..That's all she will take is 1 inch ...No more ...No less....She would give her educated opinion ...Then she would allow you to choose what you wanted done...With out pressuring you into what she wanted or knew you needed.....

I'm starting off by saying this because I am not anti-beautician.....My only problem was that because of Jennifer I thought all beauticians could be trusted the same ..That's so not true..And I learned that the hard way ...Over and over again...To be honest ...The only reason why I started sitting in other beauticians chairs was because her chair was so expensive...

After I got old enough to start making my own decisions about my hair ...I started experimenting with other beauticians...And I started feeling like a prisoner in their chair...Some one that has lost their freedom...You ask them to trim only a 1 inch or 2 inches... Then they start about how damaged your hair is ...And how bad it looks ...And how it needs to be shaped ...And I'm looking in the mirror like WHAT...What damage ???? They make you feel pressured into agreeing with them because they know best....

Oh but then I met the ones that will agree to trim 1 inch and then do what they want to do ..Because you don't know what you want or need.....My hair has always naturally grown in a very pretty V or U shape....And you ask for a trim and they cut off 4 or 5 inches giving you a blunt cut...Without your permission ....Now I could have sworn I asked for a trim ..Not a hair cut...

See to be honest..Now this is just my opinion...Licensed beauticians are women just like we are...They hold jealousy and compete against each other just like other woman do..Some go to school to get their license and never go back..So they are uneducated just like you are....And some are just plain bossy...Yes I said bossy ...How many of you sat in a chair and got bossed into something you did not want...

You know what gets me about the whole thing...Is if we go to a restaurant and our food comes out bad..Or the waiter is horrible...We don't go back...We're paying for a service and we want it right...We will even let a customer service rep have it if we are not treated right or fairly...Then we get in these chairs and become these passive little creatures...What we forget is we are paying for a service and we should receive the service that we are spending our dollar for..

I can't tell you how may times I went into a shop for a trim and came out with a hair cut instead...The last time it happened I said ENOUGH...I'm taking my hair into my own hands...The trip thing is ....I have friends of other races and when they go for a trim ...They leave with a trim...Why is it that we have so so many Scissor Happy Stylist ???

I remember when I was younger ..I had a male friend that was a stylist ...And he said Men stylist are better ...His exact words ...They are better because they are not jealous of you and they will be honest ...They know what a woman should look like...I thought he was crazy...But now 15 years later...I don't think he was as crazy as once believed..

Are all beauticians scissor happy and can't be trusted ?....Of course not....There are so so many good beauticians out there...That deserve all of our trust....But there are also some bad ones out there...And I learned the hard way...STOP HOPPING IN AND OUT OF STRANGERS CHAIRS....

If you get nervous every time your beautician does your hair...That means you don't trust them..And TRUST should be very important in choosing your beautician...
Just my opinion..What is yours ? Have you found that one beautician you have complete faith in ?? Have you taken you hair care into your own hands ???
