Elasta QP Olive Oil & Mango Butter Moisturizer

Elasta QP Olive Oil & Mango Butter Moisturizer

Most of you know that have followed my journey that Elasta QP Mango Butter (Old Formula) was a must have in my hair journey in the beginning .. I used this help me retain length getting to WL .. I remember the first time I used it (first review)

To be honest the only reason I stopped using it was that I needed something lighter in the summer... Next thing I knew they changed the formula and the name became Elasta QP Olive Oil & Mango Butter Moisturizer..

Well I have to say ... I love this new Mango Butter even better... The old formula was really thick and waxy... I used to love using it to seal... But this new formula is light and creamy and way more moisturizing..

After being at the beach and out and about all day (it was windy today) it left my hair so dry... I applied the Elasta QP to my hair in small
sections and sealed with Argan Oil .. Next I put my hair in 2 bantu knots on each side of my hair and my hair feels great right now... I've missed you Elasta Qp Mango Butter ...

  1. Oh wow, it's been a while. I had no idea that Elasta QP changed the formula (or the name). I guess when I run out of my DPR-11 I'll be picking up a jar of this as well. Sounds promising!

  2. Where did you buy the mango butter

  3. Now, I alsolove EQPMB, but I also found it to be too thick for everyday use and too waxy. I couldn't get it to spread the way I wanted it to. I will definitely look into this one. I am still in pj rehab so I'm sure it will be awhile, btw, I still haven't even gotten through half of my stash yet. I am 7mos clean and still have a closet full of stuff. This is crazy. I can't wait to get rid of all these products.

  6. @ BlaqVixenBeauty... You know I never tried the DPR-11

@ LaQT..Wow Sis.. I donated a lot of my products to college students and a couple of people who were laid off... It made me feel like I didn't waste my money because I helped others

@ Anonymous & RachelMD90 ... I know Rite Aid used to carry it but I'm not sure if they still do... I find them at Asian owned Beauty Supply stores that sell black products...

  8. I was in the BSS today and picked up the jar and read the ingredients and saw protein in it...ugh I'm protein sensitive :(. I know that you said that you are protein sensitive as well so maybe I'll give it a go. My other concern was the oils in it...I thought that my moisturizer had to be oil free in order to soak in without oils blocking the absorption? Is this wrong? I hope so cause I have been having a lot of trouble finding a oil-free moisturizer that leaves my hair feeling moisturized.

  9. @ Tip... The protein is so far down on the list it doesn't effect my hair at all...

There are 2 types of moisturizers... Water based and oil based... People get confused about oils...

Some oils like coconut, olive oil etc ... Will and can pentrate the hair shaft... They nourish the hair ( Not condition)... So oil based moisturized work great...They are just heavier then your water based moisturizdrs

  10. So glad you like it Traycee! I've had the new formula for a while and thought it didn't work. Once I did an Aphogee 2 Step Treatment and got my hair back in shape, I revisited it a few weeks ago. It is WAY better than the old formula. So glad I didn't put it in the box to give away!

For those that plan on buying it, please make sure you open the jar and check the consistency. If any air has gotten into the product, it will dry and turn waxy.

  11. Glad you like it! I absolutely refuse to purchase anything new - it's all about staying stocked on the staples. But that doesn't stop me from browsing the aisles and reading the reviews! It's good that even after an amazing review, I'm not even tempted, but I still enjoy hearing about new stuff you've tried or re-visited!

  12. So, do you like the Bee Mine moisturizer or the Elasta QP better? Which do you think moisturizes best?

    ReplyDelete
  13. @ Anonymous... To be honest if I compared the 2 ... I would say Bee Mine because it doesn't have the unnecessary ingredients in it and its all natural.. Plus I can skip days moisturizing and my hair still stays moisturized..

The textures of the 2 are very similiar and they both smell great...The QP is a little lighter than Luscious..

Bee Mine is the best... But if your in a position where you could not afford Bee mine than the next best thing would be the QP Olive Oil and Mango Butter Moisturizer

  16. OMG OMG! This has got to be the BEST moisturizer I have ever come across. To be honest. What other moisturizers actually smell like the ingredients instead of random fragrance!?the smell is sooooo refreshing! I promise you will never get bored of it. It has a significant fresh fruity mangoish smell with a hint of avacado! What other moisturizer contains 5 natural oils and butters! Not many and this is at an appropriate price! Another advantage is its consistancy is very thick and it melts into ur hair oveer a period of time leaving it moisturized day by day! Its a very smart butter! When I first purchasd the product I thought it wos rather RUBBISH and dryingg n I thought it was due to start developing some buildup and resedue in my hair but WRONG!like hello! People complain dat the product is drying but maybe ur too concerned abwt how much ur using since it comes in a small bottle and is afraid to dig in and use a proper amount in order to keep hair moisturized. A finger tip is not going to do anything so use it properlly and u will get no build up and no dryness. And also I love it. It puts little fly away hair down whilst not making hair hard at all. Perfect. Truley recommended
