What is your texlaxing process ?

To be honest I don't do anything different than before.... I don't mix anything in my relaxers like some... Before texlaxing I would use Silk Element Regular Lye Relaxer for 20 mins.... Now to texlax I use Silk Elemnts Mild Lye Relaxer for 15 mins... All I did was use a milder relaxer and leave it on a shorter period of time... Thats it nice and simple !!!

How do you take care of your color and relaxer to prevent breakage ?

I make sure that I use protein 1x a week to keep my hair strong and healthy... I usually deep condition with Aphogee 2min reconstructor then follow up with Bee U ti ful deep conditioner... Or I just mix Amino acids into my moisturizing conditioner... I also make sure I moisturize every night... I stay away from sulfates and alcohol in my shampoo's to prevent fading ... I also put my shampoo in a applicator bottle and concentrate on cleaning the scalp... I make sure I that I close the hair cuticle after washing by a cold rinse when rinsing out my conditioners..ACV rinse works great also

Are still doing Black Tea Rinses ?

No... After I got my shedding under control I stopped... I keep saying I'm going to start back for all the benefits ...

Can you please share what foundation and concealer you use ?

My favorite is MAC studio sculpt SPF 15 w/ Mac Studio fix powder.. Next favorite is Maybelline SuperStay liquid Foundation and powder ..
I don't use concealer...

Thanks for sharing! I was just wondering..do you omit the "smoothing" part when you textlax or do you not let it "sit" on your hair when you textlax? I am going to start textlaxing on my next touch up and am trying to find the best technique...my freshly relaxed hair just looks to thin after i rinse, and Im starting to be able to see more of my scalp when my hair is wet after a fresh relaxer...so your help would be greatly appreciated girl. Thanks

Hi! Your hair is so Pretty! wow! I'm growing my hair out and also texlax, using Just for me Texture Softener I find it really helps maintain health and thickness.
One question: how do you do a black tea rinse? I have some shedding. Again I love your hair and your blog! you have a new follower!

@ Zainab.... I have been retouching 10 to 12 weeks....I haven't been stretching long b/c my new growth , texlaxed hair, and relaxed hair is really hard to manage (3 diff textures)

@ RachelMD.... To be honest it depends on how fast your hair processes and the results your trying to get ... I personally only smooth my edges

Hye Traycee,

How much Amino acids would you say to add to your conditioner?

Thanks, and thanks for sharing!

Hi Traycee,

Can you explain what texlax is? I will also search to see if you have a post that fully explains it.

Thanks,
