And It Continues....

At this point this whole thing of switching to texlaxing feels like a transition... It didn't feel like a transition before but now it does... Someone said I'm transitioning with grace... But to be honest the last thing I feel is graceful..hahahaha

Its actually time to retouch but just haven't felt like doing the work to relax my hair... At this point in the game I have enough texlax hair to know I love it !!! So everything that I'm going through is going to be worth it one day..

I have finally made up my mind that this is not going to be a long transition... I plan on trimming often and doing several major chops this year.. I don't want to transition longer than a year... Texlaxed hair here I come !!!!

I haven't relaxed yet also because I'm thinking of plaiting my hair weekly and doing wigs as a protective style... Hmmmm... Maybe I don't know about that one yet...Lol... I have been looking at wigs and they are expensive...

I understand completely re: protective styling. I have several wigs in my arsenal. I decided to focus more on hair prods (not PJism, just the basics) instead of wigs this year. haaaaa. I'm grazing APL. Struggling to be consistent w/ the moisture/seal routine. I'm always encouraged by your updates.

Traycee, I feel your pain. Two years ago after getting micros all my hair was damaged. I cut it up to my ears from just below collar bone length. I was so upset. I always loved lacefronts though so I knew it wasn't going to be a tough time getting my hair back in check. I kept my hair in two layered corn rows (the back layer is to lessen the pulling on my nape to keep it from breaking) while I wear my lacefront wigs. I like the lacefront that I have (its called Showgirl). It is a waist length lace front synthetic that you can apply heat to. A new one is very curly. Because it is so curly the first day I use a wide tooth comb and comb some of the curls out and it becomes wavy. Then I staighten it, cut it to waist length and wrap it every night or style it. I love it because I can take care or my hair (which is now one inch away from shoulder length thanks to your site and only using BeeMine products and Jamaican black castor oil) and still have the long waist length natural look without braids, clue, or going to the salon. Showgirl is only $50 and last 3-4 weeks and looks like human hair once you straighten it. Hope this helps.

i'm in the same situation as you! (with way shorter hair lol). i want to plait my hair too so im not touching it but i feel i won't look feminine and braid extension cut the ends of my hair. i've been contemplating a wig but i don't know how i'll feel wearing one :s but i agree texlaxed hair is awesome!

I understand what texlaxed hair is but Im still not clear on the benefit of it. Does it feel or look different?

Thanks Ladies for your comments...

@ 1xellus1.. Wow APL thats good.. Yes you have to be consistent in your routine.. Lately I have been moisturizing every other day b/c my hair hasn't been needing it daily

@ Sharretta... Yes it looks different... Relaxed hair is straight but when you texlax... You don't relax as long so you are left with texture or curls depending on the look your trying to acheive...

Its also healthier because your not leaving the chemicals on as long...

Oh and it sounds like your hair is growing really fast

'several major chops' hmm this will be interesting to see...but ur hair grow fast and your hair already thick when u were relaxing, i just could imagine how much thicker it will be now that your texlaxing
