The Stretch Continues...

Yesterday evening after my hair air dried from co washing ... My new growth seemed to completely knot up... I felt like my scalp had a cap on it and it couldn't get any air... It was horrible and uncomfortable.. So on dry hair I was forced to detangle.. I didn't know how much hair I was going to lose but I was pleasantly surprised ... I didn't lose much hair at all...

I took a my hair and separated it into small sections and detangled with my Denman brush.. Once I finished my whole head my hair was so so thick... It makes me not want to relax for a little while longer. This stretch was not planned but my hair has benefited so much from it.

After detangling it was so full and almost hip length unstretched... I know for sure I'm back to HL .. Trying not to get excited though about the length because I know when I relax I'm doing a major trim .

I have so much new growth its so hard to tell whats going on in there.. Sunday or Monday on wash day I plan on blow drying my hair.. Not flatironing.. Just stretching my hair enough so that I can make sure I'm not getting any breakage etc. I will be sure to post pics.

Congrats on reaching hip length! What is your reason for doing a major trim? Is it because you just want to get rid of some dead ends,or...?? I always have such a hard time doing major trims, after I have finally reached a hair goal. I just reached full APL, but I have this feeling I'm gonna need to trim like 2 inches or something. Do you think its better for someone to not trim, reach their goal and then do a major trim...Or trim along the way to reaching their goal..I wanna do whichever will help me reach my goal of WL hair faster! lol

Congratulations! I know what you mean about the thickness of your hair. I just ended an 8 month stretch on Monday and I not only enjoyed the thickness of my natural roots, but I love the results of my texlax. My hair looks and feels so much thicker and healthier.

Please don't cut your waist length hair. I saw a picture of your hair at waist length and it was gorgeous! You have been a inspiration for me. I have begun co-washing my hair and I also have begun using silk amino acids in my hair. I can definately see and feel the difference that it has made. I am going to order the argan oil as well. I do take the vitamins for my hair. The only complaint that I have is that it grows hair in places that women do not want hair THE CHIN (lol) at least on me. But other than that they do work. My hair really loves the vitamins. Thanks for all of your sharing & advice. Black women can grow our own long hair and not always have to buy it. Also what do you think about the brazilian blowout?

@ BittyBoss...Thanks .. I don't know if I could handle all that hair.

@ Withintheword.. Yes thank you I got back to Hip Length quicker than I thought...

@ Mawiyah... Yes I'm going to blow dry my hair soon so we can have a look I want to make sure there is no breakage or anything

@ Lynora... Sure what is it exactly that you wanted a video on

@ 1xellus1... Thank you I'm very proud of myself.. Maybe I can actually stay at HL this time.

@ RachelMD90... Well I used to relax bone straight and now I relax and leave a little texture in it.. So I want to slowly cut off the straighter ends

@ VBrown... Thanks ... Just what I needed to hear to keep going

@ uchechi may nzerem ... Coming soon

@ lyn... Don't worry I'm not cutting my WL hair because my hair is Hip Length .. I would be trimming it back to WL... It will be much thicker at the ends when I do.. You know I didn't extra hair in those places... Gets some nair for face and keep it pushing..I'm so glad to hear your seeing a difference already in your hair journey

I wanted to see how you blow dry your roots/hair. Every time I try to stretch my relaxers by blow drying my roots, I still get a lot of breakage (where the two textures meet), so I wanted to see how you do it without getting all the hair loss. Thank you so much, you're always so helpful!!!

Hi Traycee,
I am a 16 year that had made a decision to transition from relaxed to texlaxed. I have been texlaxed for about 6 months now, and it's really hard to work with 3types of hair. I was wondering if it is possible that if I wanted, could I relax my texlaxed hair, so that it would be straighter...But is that doing more harm then good? Also if I wanted to continue with texlaxing, do you have any tips?
