Are you still co washing and doing deep conditions twice a week or are you only washing and deep conditioning once a week?

Hi Traycee,

I know in colder temperatures, coconut oil can also harden in hair. Have you ever had this problem? If so, what oil do you use to substitute for coconut oil in colder weather?

You have amazing hair!! Thanks for all the info you provide.

God bless!

@Jenna I live in Michigan so I've had the hard coconut. I keep some of my coconut oil in an applicator bottle and keep it in front of the heat vent. If you have a window that gets a lot of direct sunlight you could put the applicator bottle in the window. When I forget to do that I use EVOO.

Darn I should have been a part of this. I've been doing it and I even started a Sophisticated Bun Series on my blog. Every Monday I do a different style bun with a twist. Check out today's when you get a chance.

I hear you on the not having to moisturize daily. I find that since I've eliminated heat styling, I only need to moisturize a couple times a week also :-)

Your bun looks cute too!

So in true fashion, I submitted my comment before finishing the video LOL.

Have you ever tried Vatika oil? Girl, it is the bomb for helping hair retain moisture. It's a mix of coconut oil, amla and henna. You can get it from the Indian grocers but I get it online.

Wow I did not know that about coconut oil. Mine solidified while i was wearing my individual braids last month. I thought I got the wrong one so I threw it away and bought some olive oil lol
