Yesterday evening after my hair air dried from co washing ... My new growth seemed to completely knot up... I felt like my scalp had a cap on it and it couldn't get any air... It was horrible and uncomfortable.. So on dry hair I was forced to detangle.. I didn't know how much hair I was going to lose but I was pleasantly surprised ... I didn't lose much hair at all...
I took a my hair and separated it into small sections and detangled with my Denman brush.. Once I finished my whole head my hair was so so thick... It makes me not want to relax for a little while longer. This stretch was not planned but my hair has benefited so much from it.
After detangling it was so full and almost hip length unstretched... I know for sure I'm back to HL .. Trying not to get excited though about the length because I know when I relax I'm doing a major trim .
I have so much new growth its so hard to tell whats going on in there.. Sunday or Monday on wash day I plan on blow drying my hair.. Not flatironing.. Just stretching my hair enough so that I can make sure I'm not getting any breakage etc. I will be sure to post pics.

Protective Styling For Longer Hair
I receive so many emails with frustrated women who are stuck at Shoulder or Arm Pit Length and they refuse to give protective styling a try...
If you keep doing the same thing your going to keep getting the same results... Protective styling has helped so many women retain length including myself... I was stuck at about SL/APL for most of my life but protective styling helped me finally grow out my hair...You see your hair rubs against your clothing, car seat etc and breaks even when we don't notice...
Misconceptions about protecting styling...
People think braid-outs and curly styles are protective styles... If you hair is touching your shoulders or is exposed to environment etc. Your not protecting your hair. Your wearing a heat less style but not a protective style.
Protective styles protects the hair from your clothing, sun, wind etc... Updos , wigs , fake pony tails , weaves are example of protective styles.
My choice of protective style is buns and updo's.. I like keeping my ends tucked away and protected...
Benefits of Protective Styling:
It's spring now and summer is on its ways so its not that hard right now to jazz up your buns. (Example : flowers, headbands )

Benefits of Protective Styling:
- Retain most of your length
- Keeps hair moisturized and soft
- Protects hair from environment ( sun, wind, cold weather)
- Prevents breakage
- Gets boring
- If done too tightly or with wrong hair bands it can cause breakage in nape or edges

Game Plan To Tame This New Growth
I got up this morning and my new growth was so so dry and un manageable ... Straight mess... The sweat from these workouts really make it challenging to keep this new growth moisturized... So what I decided to do is deal with it later... I moisturized the length of my hair ... Slicked down my edges and did a lose bun...
Packed my gym bag and put 2 packs of Ors Replenshing Packs in my gym back .. After my work out I will put this through my new growth and hair and deep condition in the steam room.. Wash when I get home and that should get me make on track..
Keep you posted

Maybe its b/c I have been seeing the results I want.. I've lost more than 15 pounds ...I only wanted to lose 10 but thats ok .. I will build it back up in muscle.. One thing about being curvy from the waist down.... No matter how small I get these hips and this behind doesn't go anywhere ...
